Have you ever wondered, "What happens when the last
breath leaves a person?" Do they go to heaven, hell or no place at
all?
It seems so confusing because of the varied beliefs.
Catholics say: "Your immortal soul leaves the body and goes to heaven,
hell or purgatory depending on whether you've been good,
bad or somewhat bad." Most Protestants say: "Your immortal soul goes
directly to heaven upon death." Eastern
religions say: "Your immortal soul is reincarnated as someone or
something else." Atheists say:
"Death is the end of you, because you only live once." And we
can't forget the common held belief of society that
says that the dead interact with the living; coming back as ghost,
zombies or vampires.
But there is another group; a small group of
Bible-reading Christians that say: "Death is merely a sleep until the
resurrection at the Second Coming of Christ."
What really is the truth and where can we find it? The Bibles gives
unshakeable answers to
these questions and more.
Let's study them now together.
1.What
is a soul?
“And the LORD
God formed man of the _____ of the ground, and breathed into
his nostrils the ________ of life; and man became a living soul” (Gen.
2:7).
2.What
(3) three parts make up man?
“And the very
God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole
_______ and ______ and ________ be preserved blameless unto the coming
of our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Thess. 5:23).
3.Is
the soul immortal?
“Behold, all
souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son
is mine: the ______ that sinneth, it shall ______” (Eze. 18:4)

unto the resurrection of damnation”
(John
5:28, 29). “The patriarch David, that he is both dead and
________, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day. For David is
____ __________ into the heavens.” (Acts 2:29, 34).
6.Can
the dead communicate with the living? Do they know anything?
“Man
lieth down, and riseth not.” His sons come to honour, and he knoweth
it not; and they are brought low, but he perceiveth it
not of them” (Job 14:12, 21). “The
_____ ______ ___ any thing…their love, and their hatred, and their envy,
is now perished; neither have they any more a portion for ever in any
thing that is done under the sun”
(Eccl. 9:5, 6).
7.Do
the dead return to haunt
places?
“As
the cloud is consumed and vanisheth away: so he that goeth down to the
grave shall come up no more. He shall _______ ___ _____ to
his _______, neither shall his place know him any more.”
(Job
7:9, 10).
8
.What
was the devil’s first lie?
“And
the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall ____ surely die.”
(Gen. 3:4).
9
.Who
only has immortality?

thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until
the appearing of our ______ Jesus Christ: Which in his times he shall
shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings,
and Lord of lords; Who only hath immortality
dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath
seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting.
Amen”
(1 Tim. 6:14-17).
10

do we get immortality?

now made manifest by the appearing of our _______ Jesus Christ, who
hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light
through the gospel” (2 Tim. 1:10).
11.Are
you glad that Jesus conquered death and can now grant immortality to
all who believe?
