Destination of Evil

(Download ".pdf" lesson)

You’ve heard it before; “The wicked burn forever and the devil controls everything.” Is this true? Has God put Satan in charge of hell to torment the wicked forever while the saved are with Him in heaven? The answer to this is very important, because God’s reputation is on the line. How could He be a God of love if somewhere in His universe He has a personal torture chamber? That would make Him worst than Saddam or Hitler. Let us study Scripture and find out the truth about hell.

1.    Who was hell intended for?

“Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the ______ and his ________” (Matt. 25:41).

2.    Is anyone in Hell right now?

“The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to ________ the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished” (2 Peter 2:9).

No! Not until the Day of Judgment.

3.    When is the Day of Judgment?

“So shall it be in the _____ of this world. The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; and shall cast them into a furnace of fire” (Matt. 13:40-42)

4.    Where are dead sinners now?

“The hour is coming, in the which all that are in the ________ shall hear his voice, and shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation” (John 5:28, 29).

5.   What does hellfire accomplish?

“But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the ______ death.” (Rev. 21:8).

6.   How hot and where is hell?

“But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with ________ heat, the ______ also and the works that are therein shall be burned up” (2 Peter 3:10).

7.  Will all sinners be punished the same?

“And that servant, which knew his lord’s will, and prepared not himself…shall be _______ with many stripes. But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with ____ stripes” (Luke 12:47, 48). “And then he shall reward every man according to his works” (Matt. 16:27).

No! Punishment will be according to your works.

8.   Will hell burn forever?

“And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be _____ under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts.” (Mal. 4:3).

9.  Who will be destroyed in the hellfire?

“And the _____ that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the ______ and the ______ prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever” (Rev. 20:10). “The _______ that sinneth, it shall die” (Eze. 18:20).

The Devil, like all other sinners, will be cast into the lake of fire and brimstone.

10.  Does God enjoy destroying sinners?

As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have ___  _______ in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?” (Eze. 33:11).

11. Do you understand that God doesn’t have a torture chamber called hell?
